Speech Pathology Speech Helper

This Privacy Policy explains how the Speech Pathology Speech Helper app (the "App") handles information when you use it.

The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or share any personal information. We do not collect, store, sell, or share your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personally identifying information on any server operated by us or a third party we control.

When you tap the microphone to attempt a sentence, the App captures audio through your device's microphone and passes it to Apple's speech-recognition service so it can be converted to text.

On modern devices and supported locales, Apple's speech-recognition service defaults to processing audio entirely on-device — meaning your audio never leaves your iPad or iPhone. On older devices, some non-English locales, or when on-device recognition is otherwise unavailable, iOS may complete recognition using Apple's servers. In both cases, handling of the audio is governed by Apple's own privacy policies and terms — please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple processes speech data.

The App does not record audio to a file, does not store audio on your device beyond what is needed for real-time recognition, and does not send audio to any server other than Apple's.

The following information is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us:

• Chosen difficulty level and story theme
• Progress within the quest (levels completed, scores, stars)
• Any custom sentences you create via "Grown Up: Settings"
• Acknowledgement that you have accepted the Terms of Use

You can remove this data at any time by deleting the App from your device.

The App does not include any third-party analytics, tracking, telemetry, or advertising SDKs. There are no cookies. No ads are shown. No data profiles are built.

The App is designed with children in mind. In accordance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and comparable laws elsewhere:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
• On modern devices, Apple's speech-recognition service processes a child's voice on-device by default, so the audio never leaves the device.
• On older devices or unsupported locales where server-side recognition is used, audio is processed by Apple's speech-recognition service and is subject to Apple's own child-privacy practices.
• Parents and guardians should supervise a child's use of the App, review these policies with them, and revoke permissions if desired via the iOS Settings app.

• Microphone — to capture what your child says while attempting a sentence.
• Speech Recognition — to convert that speech to text.

Both permissions can be granted or revoked at any time through the iOS Settings app.

Because the App does not send personal information to a server we control, there is no server-side data to secure. Data stored locally on your device is protected by iOS's built-in sandboxing and encryption.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The version number above will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
